Semi automatic AKM rifles were/are imported from Egypt. These rifles are mfg. by the Maadi Co. for Engineering Industries Maadi-Cairo,Egypt. The factory was shipped to Egypt lock,stock,and barrel from Russia. The Russian's set up the factory for the Egyptians after they got there arab butts kicked by the jews in the 60's. The pre 1989 ban rifles were only imported by Styer.

Review:	Cartridge 7,62x39mm Stamped Receiver, "Pre Ban rifle" These are one of my favorite AK-47 types. They can cost a bit, and are getting harder to find, so keep your eyes out for the good deals on the low end of the range. Considered to be one of the most reliable AK's available today Egyptian Maddi is available today in both Pre-Ban and Post-Ban variations

Great gun, fun to shoot, althugh I keep mine clean and in my safes. Not for show, only to
have hold and love. I like all these types and intend to collect all I can find in other varients

These are in the same 'higher mid range' of AK-47 as the Norinco. I have this one on the shelf and don't shoot it too often.
